Boycotting Israeli products actually works!!!

Numerous companies are implicated in Israel’s violent conflict against 2.3 million Palestinians residing in Gaza. Any non-violent, grassroots attempts, such as boycotts and divestments, to make these entities answer for their endorsement of Israel’s offenses towards Palestinians, are well-founded.

Certain companies, such as Carrefour, have intensified their involvement by providing thousands of personal packages to the Israeli occupation army. This action directly aids and abets their perpetration of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

All of them should face boycotts and divestment, regardless of claims that their branches in different countries have local ownership, either in full or in part. The parent company bears responsibility for allowing its Israeli branch to endorse an ongoing military aggression, which leading scholars of genocide have characterized as a ‘textbook case of genocide.’ We advocate for sustained pressure on entities that support apartheid Israel and its genocidal campaign against our people in Gaza.

Regarding Dominos, McDonald’s, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, and Burger King: Believe me, you wouldn’t want to consume that harmful fare. Opt for local eateries with fresh ingredients instead. These fast food establishments with unhealthy offerings can adversely affect your well-being.

I’ve observed many individuals sharing extensive lists of companies to boycott. While boycotting all of them would be ideal, Palestinian activists are urging us to prioritize and focus on specific companies for a more effective campaign!

A brief explanation of boycotting and how to go about it:

Boycotting, in simple terms, means refraining from purchasing products from a particular brand. It doesn’t entail disposing of items you already possess from that brand, nor does it involve buying them and then disposing or destroying them afterward. It simply means not making future purchases.

The benefit of spreading information about companies to boycott is that with a collective effort, you can demonstrate that what this company has done is unacceptable. Many people will withdraw their support as a result.

Indeed, it’s evident that this approach has been effective, as many people have rightfully ceased buying products from numerous companies that back Israel. I’m only providing two examples for now, but there are plenty of other instances of this.

You’re absolutely right. Disposing of products you already own, like a shirt from Puma or your HP laptop, won’t have any impact at this stage. What you should do is refrain from endorsing or purchasing these products moving forward. Buying these products now, regardless of what you do with them, will still contribute money to support the companies.
