Palestine Story for non-Arabs: Sanctions on Apartheid Israel Now

If you’re not acquainted with the complete truth, here’s a straightforward historical overview to provide clarity for you. The Palestinian resistance movement is actively addressing a range of longstanding issues. This includes safeguarding Al-Aqsa mosque and advocating for Palestinian rights, underscoring their unwavering determination and dedication to justice.

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine isn’t a battle between two recognized states. Therefore, the Palestinian resistance’s actions aren’t a formal declaration of war, but rather a response to a series of violations that have persisted for over 70 years.

  • Caliph Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), an Arab, liberated Jerusalem in 637.
  • Sultan Salahudeen al-Ayyubi, a Kurd, liberated Jerusalem in 1187.
  • The Ottoman Turks were the final civilization to defend Jerusalem in 1917.
  • The Bengali pilot, Saiful Azam, was the lone pilot to shoot down four Israeli fighter jets in the 1967 war.

The Muslim community is united in its stance against the occupation of Masjid Al-Aqsa and Palestine.

For over a century, the Palestinian Territories were part of the Ottoman Empire. However, during World War I, as the empire weakened and eventually transitioned into the Republic of Turkey, Britain took control of the territories.

In 1917, the British Foreign Secretary expressed wholehearted support for the establishment of a Jewish state in the Palestinian Territories in a letter to Lionel Rothschild. This pledge is often referred to as “A promise from someone who does not possess to someone who does not deserve.”

At the outset of this significant promise being put into action, the Jewish population in Palestine was 7%. This percentage rose to 28% of the total population after the immigration of European Jews to Palestine under British protection.

Following the conclusion of World War II, the United Nations issued a resolution in 1947 regarding the partition of Palestine between Arabs and Jews.

On May 14, 1948, Israeli leaders convened at the Tel Aviv Museum and declared the termination of the British Mandate. The establishment of the state of Israel was acknowledged by both the United States of America and the Soviet Union.

The 1948 War saw numerous Arab nations reject the perceived unjust occupation and partition of Palestine by the United States. Israel emerged victorious in several conflicts with the support of America, acquiring territories larger than those initially sanctioned by the United States.

Numerous armed and unarmed Palestinian organizations emerged with a singular demand: the liberation of their state, which they believed had been unjustly divided and occupied.

The Palestinian people face daily and systematic violations. There are over 100 thousand registered martyrs, with an uncounted number potentially twice as high. The death toll exceeds a million. These attacks affect various aspects of life, including education, healthcare, and essential supplies that are frequently disrupted. There are also violations of religious sanctities, with provocations occurring on all occasions and holidays.

Israel, contrary to its claims of seeking peace, shows no intention of granting Palestinians peace. It also doesn’t appear inclined to establish a Palestinian state adjacent to its own, as the UN suggests. The Palestinian territory is diminishing daily while areas under Israeli occupation continue to expand.

The primary concern is that the progress made by Trump in establishing Israel as a recognized country with bilateral relations with affluent Muslim nations in the Middle East may be nearly irreversible, greatly affecting the Palestinian cause.

Additionally, Israel aligning with the Sunni Muslim bloc against the Shia bloc led by Iran in the region could have disastrous consequences for regional peace and prosperity, ultimately benefiting Western and Zionist Israeli interests. It remains to be seen whether the significant shift in the foreign policies of these Muslim countries is a temporary phenomenon or a fundamental change.

If you search for the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, you’ll find evidence of violations and settlements. The Palestinian resistance is simply a response to the ongoing daily violations that take place, and these are often overlooked in discussions.

A prevailing consensus in the State Department suggests that it is time to empower regional players, in collaboration with Israel, to manage diminished American interests in the region and refocus efforts on confronting and containing the rise of China and the re-emergence of Russia, forming new alliances in the process.

Regardless, the Indo-Pacific Rebalancing will continue to address the key strategic rationale for U.S. presence in the region: ensuring the free flow of energy resources from the Persian Gulf and maintaining secure Sea Lines of Communication for free trade. Furthermore, Israel’s strategic position has never been stronger, with a per capita GDP comparable to that of France and the United Kingdom.

While Iran remains a challenge, the Israel Defense Forces are seen as capable of deterring Tehran and its allies. Consequently, U.S. experts believe that, following recent developments between Israel and key Arab countries, and with a more secure hold on the West Bank, Israel is no longer in a precarious position.

Regarding the established Middle Eastern countries, which are perceived, rightly or wrongly, to lean towards Israel and India, it is evident that a country’s foreign policy should not only emanate from but also complement, its internal policies. Both should pursue national interests focused on the security and well-being of the nation. This is a crucial point that our highly invested parliamentarians and policymakers need to grasp and actively work towards formulating and implementing self-reliant national policies.

Discussing the influence of white Jews or Israel in the international community, media, or Washington D.C often leads to accusations of antisemitism or silencing. There are concerns about a global system perceived as dominated by white Jewish influence, which some view as a form of oppression. These sentiments call for greater scrutiny and potential transformation of existing power dynamics.

For the first time in the history of the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli colonial settler state, characterized by its racist and supremacist ideology, the Palestinian resistance movement has taken the initiative to deter the brutal occupation forces. The objectives of this operation are to halt the ongoing desecration of Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem by soldiers and settlers, put an end to the daily attacks and killings of Palestinian youth in West Bank camps and cities, secure the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners enduring inhumane and harsh conditions in Israeli prisons, lift the illegal siege on Gaza, and demonstrate to the entire world that the Palestinian fight will persist until all the rights of Palestinians are reinstated, including the right of return.

As for the solution, Husam Zomlot suggests:

  1. Equal application of international law and resolutions, similar to how it’s done with other conflicts like Ukraine.
  2. Full adherence to the rules of the League of Nations and the United Nations, with Israel no longer being an exception.
  3. Israel, as an occupying force, should provide protection for the people under its occupation.

Lastly, Israel with its crocodile tears is spreading fake image of mutated bodies calling as their own.
