Hi, we are a leading digital marketing agency offering complete services. Please share your number so our team can arrange a meeting.
That message opens with the sender’s needs, makes an unverified status claim and asks the recipient to surrender time before receiving value.
A stronger message would be:
Your recent Reel on customers abandoning checkout after seeing delivery charges was accurate. We noticed the same pattern while reviewing Pakistani retail funnels, especially where delivery terms appear only at the final step. Have you tested showing the delivery range on the product page itself?
The second message is not necessarily selling anything yet, but it creates a relevant conversation in which expertise can become visible. That is not wasted effort. It is the beginning of qualification.
The initial DM should rarely contain the sender’s complete biography, a wall of service descriptions, several links and an immediate request for a call. Economy is a form of respect. As the course notes, if the recipient must decode the intention, search for the point or guess what is being requested, the message becomes heavier.
Bring Value Before Trying to Extract It
“Provide value” has become such an overused marketing phrase that it often means nothing. In DM networking, value has a clear operational definition: anything that reduces the other person’s effort or increases their understanding.
That may be a useful observation, a concise answer, a relevant introduction, a correction, a resource, a qualified referral or good timing. It does not require free consulting worth thousands of pounds, nor does it require a dramatic gesture designed to create social debt.
A junior professional may create value by summarising a difficult report. A designer may identify one conversion problem on a landing page. An engineer may clarify whether an advertised technical specification makes sense. A distributor may confirm actual product availability instead of forcing a customer through three calls. A founder may introduce two people whose commercial needs genuinely align.
The course makes the same point: value is not restricted to money or status; clarity, timing and usefulness can all move a relationship forward.
Follow Up Without Becoming a Nuisance
Follow-up is necessary because silence does not always mean rejection. The recipient may have opened the message at the wrong moment, received too many requests or lacked an immediate reason to act. The course correctly describes follow-up as a test of continuity rather than an act of pressure.
A useful follow-up should add something new, clarify the original point, lower the effort required to respond or reconnect the conversation to shared context.
