How to convince Somali-Landers to stop normalising Zionists?

The Genocide That Suddenly Doesn’t Matter

Between 1960 and 1991, the Somali state carried out a systematic campaign of mass killing, displacement, and aerial bombardment against the Isaak population in what is now Somaliland.

Hundreds of thousands killed.
Cities levelled.
Identity targeted.

This record is not disputed by scholars.

Yet today, many voices suddenly discover “territorial integrity” — only when Israel is involved.

That hypocrisy is real.
And Somalilanders are right to call it out.

But hypocrisy elsewhere does not cleanse moral compromise at home.

The Muslim World’s Position Is Unambiguous

On 27 December 2025, 21 Arab, Islamic, and African states issued a joint declaration rejecting Israel’s recognition of Somaliland as:

  • A violation of Somalia’s sovereignty

  • A breach of international law

  • A destabilising precedent

Among them:

  • Qatar

  • Saudi Arabia

  • Organization of Islamic Cooperation

  • Arab League

Notably silent:

  • United Arab Emirates

  • Bahrain

  • Morocco

Silence is not neutrality.
It is alignment without accountability.

Palestine’s Position Is Clear — And Consistent

The State of Palestine reaffirmed:

  • Full support for Somalia’s unity

  • Total rejection of any Israel–Somaliland recognition

  • Warning against destabilisation and displacement narratives

President Mahmoud Abbas did not mince words.

This is not selective outrage.
Palestine has never recognised Somaliland — nor Israel.

Consistency matters.
