S. Zaheeruddin Ahmed’s Arey Wah! Is Turning Pakistan’s Advertising Madness Into a Web Series

S. Zaheeruddin Ahmed leads Arey Wah!, an upcoming Pakistani web series produced by Marriam Mustafa, bringing agency chaos to the screen.

Pakistan’s creative industry has spent years selling brands, moods, aspirations and polished illusions, yet very rarely has it stopped to dramatize its own chaos with honesty, wit and craft. That is why Arey Wah! matters before its full release even arrives. This is not another formulaic attempt to mimic stale television rhythms for digital audiences. It is an insider-led, professionally mounted Pakistani web-series project that dares to take the feverish world of advertising agencies, production rooms, impossible clients and overworked creatives, and throw that entire ecosystem onto the screen with a mix of humour, fatigue and sharp observation.

At the centre of that effort stands S. Zaheeruddin Ahmed, one of Pakistan’s best-known advertising storytellers, whose career has long sat at the intersection of conceptual writing, commercial direction and brand-building. Aurora profiled him as the founder of iD Creations and described him as the mind behind several memorable Pakistani TVCs, while also highlighting what set his work apart: humour, insight and strong storytelling. The same profile carried one of the clearest summaries of his philosophy when he said,
“A good script is 50% of the work done.”

That matters here because Arey Wah! is not being sold merely as a visual product; it is being positioned as a story born from experience inside an industry that often looks glamorous from a distance and deranged from up close.

What makes Zaheeruddin even more relevant to a project like this is that he has spent years arguing against empty spectacle. In a 2024 interview with Synergyzer, he said he had tried to shift Pakistan’s advertising industry “from execution to idea,” insisting that strong ideation, not visual noise, is the true backbone of meaningful brand work. He also traced his own journey through Synergy, iD Creation, Arey Wah and Dareechey Films, showing a career built not on random reinvention but on sustained creative authorship and production leadership.
