No matter how wealthy the BCCI is, they can never organize an opening ceremony as spectacular as the one conducted by the ECB. That was truly epic. Can the BCCI surpass that?
Security is a concern, especially because Pakistani players are involved. If something were to happen openly, it could lead to unwanted ripple effects and tarnish the event. So, it’s better to err on the side of caution.
Doing this on an open road in India is just not feasible. Firstly, due to the high population density, and secondly, the immense craze for cricket. Therefore, it’s a prudent decision to make it a closed event and not allow public entry. Also, to organize such ceremonies, it is necessary for the people of the country to be well-mannered.

NO OPENING CEREMONY for ICC Cricket World Cup 2023
The BCCI seems to lack original ideas of its own, nor does it seem inclined to borrow from others. It appears they couldn’t care less. They canceled the giant opening ceremony celebrations because they wanted to hold a special ceremony for the India-Pakistan game. Anil Patel, Secretary of Gujarat Cricket Association, said there was no opening ceremony going to happen.
