DHA Lahore’s Basant restrictions turn a public cultural festival into a paid enclosure. Law, logic, and culture all say this policy must be reversed.

What a Reasonable Policy Would Look Like

  • Enforce bans on illegal strings, aggressively

  • Confiscate hazardous material, not kites

  • Allow rooftop celebrations with SOPs

  • Facilitate free public events—not paid monopolies

  • Coordinate with Punjab Police instead of issuing threats

That is balance.
That is governance.
That is respect.
