[List] Cricket World Cup 2023 will be the Last for these Players

Explore a diverse range of cricket discussions, including player retirements, match predictions, and career trajectories.

Last World Cup

I believe this will be the last World Cup for many more. In four years’ time, ODIs would have dried up even more. Don’t be surprised if many more players retire from ODIs post this World Cup, as T20s will be the focus moving forward. The following is the list of cricketers team-wise who will probably bid farewell to the world of ODI cricket as far as World Cup tournaments are concerned.

Players who will have their last Cricket World Cup

Australia:

  • David Warner: ODI retirement U-turn before WC. Australian opener David Warner is also one of those players, who are in the last phase of their. Likely to retire due to potential declining form or preference to focus on other formats.
  • Mitchell Starc: Possible retirement due to workload management or form concerns.
  • Josh Hazlewood: Josh Hazlewood is also one of the players who might shockingly follow Quinton de Kock into retirement after the 2023 ODI World Cup.
  • Aaron Finch: “Realising that I won’t be playing on until the next T20 World Cup in 2024, now is the right moment to step down and give the team time to plan and build towards that event,” Finch told reporters at the MCG.
  • Pat Cummins: May be he will focus more on Test Cricket.
  • Steve Smith
