- Heat oil in a pot.
- Add crushed vermicelli and mix thoroughly. Cook over low heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Incorporate powdered sugar and dry milk powder, ensuring they are well combined. Continue cooking over medium heat for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Set aside 1/3 of the cooked vermicelli in a separate bowl for later use.
- Transfer the remaining vermicelli to a serving dish and gently press it down to form a layer.
Prepare Custard:
- In a pot, combine milk and cream. Whisk them together until well blended.
- Add sugar to the pot and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- In a small bowl, combine custard powder and milk. Stir well to dissolve any lumps.
- Pour the dissolved custard mixture into the pot with the milk and sugar. Mix thoroughly.
- Continue cooking the mixture until the custard thickens, which should take approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Once the custard has thickened, pour it over the assembled vermicelli.
- Sprinkle the reserved vermicelli over the custard layer, spreading it evenly.
- Cover the dish with cling film and allow it to cool at room temperature.
