Imran Khan Takes Credit for Pakistan Cricket Team’s Success

I propose PCB PR must be monitored. Instead of stopping them, how about giving them an alternative as we have reached finals.

PM Shehbaz Sharif had been trying to sneak and lure the team’s achievement to divert the attention of the nation in many incidences. Once he quoted Zimbabwean PM about Mr. Pak Bean’s episode and highlighted the sportsman spirit of the nation to bounce back. PM Shehbaz Sharif shall go and watch the match in the stadium. The 1992 World Cup came to Imran Khan during Nawaz Sharif’s regime. The 2017 champion trophy under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed was also during Mian’s tenure. The 2022 World Cup will come under Shahbaz Sharif’s regime to Babar Azam.

So should we give the credit to Sharifs? Pakistani cricket at its best after Rameez Raja became PCB Chairman. Technically, Chairman PCB should be politically appointed as PCB is autonomous. So does it mean that Shahbaz Sharif who did not inject politics into the game should be given the credit?

If anyone is to be given credit the only person with the Pakistan Cricket team since World T20 2007 is Malang Ali. He is the ISI guy I still remember his flying back flip and cartwheel celebration when Pakistan made it to the final in 2007.

I have always had the opinion that champions in any sport require some luck in the process. You need luck in today’s competitive sports and that’s what happened in the ICC tournament. Not saying we didn’t deserve the spot. But including religion in cricket is wrong. I think we should all enjoy this moment as despite the unrest and economic crisis our country faces we will still play the World Cup final. Congratulations.
