Into that silence rushed outrage, denial, and collective blame.
The Most Dangerous Lie in the Discourse
One claim repeated relentlessly deserves direct rejection:
“All Pashtuns are Afghan nationals.”
This is false, irresponsible, and constitutionally absurd.
Millions of Pashtuns are Pakistani citizens.
They are not guests.
They are not deportable.
They are not responsible for the actions of any foreign national.
Conflating them is not just racist—it protects actual offenders by dissolving responsibility into noise.
Event Management Failed — But Violence Was a Choice
Yes, Park View City’s organizers failed:
-
Oversold tickets
-
Inadequate security
-
Poor traffic planning
-
No fireworks despite charging for them
Those failures deserve investigation and compensation claims.
But stone-throwing, harassment, and vandalism were choices.
A bad event does not suspend the law.
What Authorities Must Do—Without Hate, Without Fear
Pakistan does not need mob justice.
It needs governance.
-
Identify individuals involved using video, vehicle data, and ticket records
-
If Pakistani citizens—prosecute
-
If foreign nationals—apply immigration law, including deportation
-
Hold event organizers financially and legally accountable
-
End the culture of denial disguised as tolerance
This is how states function. Anything less is abdication.
A Mirror Held Up to the Country
Park View City was not just a New Year’s Eve failure.
It was a mirror:
