What Bollywood owes Khan—and what the public owes his family
Murad’s rebuke cuts because it comes from within the profession. Supporting actors make the worlds around leading stars believable; audiences remember their scenes even when posters give them little space. Khan’s colleagues who came to his funeral should be acknowledged, and the prominent figures Murad addressed should hear his question without being assigned an unproven political excuse. Fame is no substitute for showing up when a fellow artist’s family is grieving.
