Why anti‑Pakistan propaganda must be called out
State‑run media in India and some Western outlets have already framed the pact as “Pakistan becoming a mercenary army for the Gulf.” Such narratives ignore the agency Pakistan retains in negotiating terms. The real criticism should be aimed at the lack of public oversight, not at Pakistan’s participation per se. If the government cannot publish the MoU’s financials, it should not be surprised when watchdogs and opposition parties question the deal’s legitimacy.
Accountability question
Given that the only publicly available sources are a TRT World report and a handful of X posts, the Pakistani government must publish the full text of the memorandum, disclose any financial commitments, and explain how the agreement will translate into jobs or indigenous production. Until then, the public can only ask: is Pakistan signing up for a genuine industrial upgrade, or is it being leveraged as a convenient front for Gulf security ambitions?
