Shan Masood is a Blue-eyed

First of all congratulations Shan Masood bhai on tying the knot.

If phone calls were made for making Shan Masood the vice-captain. Then I made those calls. Ramiz Raja stated that the head coach of the team received multiple calls when Shan Masood was benched for two matches against New Zealand and the head coach and captain were forced to play him. Ramiz Raja is engaging in unethical behavior. He was removed from his position as PCB chairman and is now resorting to low actions. If there was an issue, he should have addressed it while he was still in a position of authority. He should maintain his remaining dignity and refrain from speaking negatively about players and management.

Ramiz Raja, a former chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), criticized the current management committee led by Najam Sethi for being too controlling of the players’ actions. During an interaction with cricket fans, Ramiz expressed his concern about the pressure being applied to the players by the PCB. He stated that it was as if the players had to follow what was said, no matter what. Ramiz also revealed through his sources that the appointment of the vice-captain of the Pakistan ODI team was influenced by outside forces. Ramiz Raja thinks Muhammad Rizwan was the deserving candidate for Vice-Captaincy in absence of Shadab Khan.

Why were phone calls entertained, Mr. Raja, under your regime? I believe that Ramiz Raja is deliberately ruining Shan Masood’s career. I acknowledge Shan Masood’s impressive performance in high-stakes games like the T20 final against England and a match against India. Ramiz is following in the footsteps of Imran Khan. While in power, Ramiz was inactive and silent, but now that he has been removed from power, he is making nonsensical statements.

Although Shan Masood may not be as talented as other players, he has a level head and is physically fit, which are rare qualities in the current setup. I think that with proper grooming, Shan Masood could be a great captain as leadership qualities are not always found in the most talented players. Shan Masood has a great track record when he scored hundreds in county cricket and also in Pakistan’s domestic circuit. Shan Masood was the top run-scorer for Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. I like his selfless attitude, unlike many others.

In T20 cricket, Masood has represented Pakistan as well as several T20 teams including Multan Sultans and Northern Warriors.

Masood’s height is not publicly known. His highest score in Test cricket is 125. He is married and his wife’s name is also not publicly known.

The captain and vice-captain of Pakistan’s upcoming ODI series have the highest List-A batting averages among active cricketers who have played at least 100 innings. The top three averages are:

  1. 57.9 – Michael Bevan (Australia)
  2. 57.1 – Shan Masood (Pakistan)
  3. 56.6 – Babar Azam (Pakistan)

I believe that Shan Masood deserves a fair chance to prove himself as he is a hard worker. If he fails, then it would be appropriate to drop him. I also think it’s good that the PCB is limiting the captain’s power. Ramiz attempted to make Babar into a leader like Imran Khan, but Babar does not have the necessary skills. It is important to keep Babar’s authority in check, and the PCB should seriously consider removing the captaincy from him.
